Digital Design
In mid 2016, M2mobi asked me to become the lead designer for the DFW Airport app and website. The app and website provided passengers with up-to-date information about their upcoming flight.
Challenge
When I started working on the app and website they had a dated visual appearance. I was given the task to boost the design to become more modern, simple and self-evident.
After a few releases with minor adjustments I started working on improving the user flow in the app. On-site usability tests showed me that selecting and viewing a flight could be drastically improved. During a 3 months trajectory I introduced multiple new interaction patterns regarding the structure, navigation and core funnel of the app.
Solutions
Throughout a period of 2 years I’ve been responsible for the research, ideation and design of multiple new features. These feature improve the user journey of a passenger visiting DFW Airport in a exciting way, while also increasing revenue for the airport.
Examples of the innovations I have worked on are: mobile food ordering, parking reservation, TSA waiting times and mobile passport control.
Results
The app has already been downloaded more than 611,000 times
32,000 users per month
350,000 unique visitors per month to the website
